Rosettes
The rosette is the visual focal point of the guitar, the aesthetic centerpiece, and the maker’s signature. I enjoy being creative here, integrating the rosette into the instrument’s overall aesthetic theme, which is often suggested by the woods themselves, in addition to my understanding of the customer’s preference. I offer three varieties of rosettes: the traditional mosaic; natural-state wood (as nature provides) in place of the traditional mosaic; and either of the above flanked by a chip carving. The base price includes a choice from one of three mosaic patterns or one of the several natural-state woods, each of which is unique. Chip-carved rosettes, because of their delicacy, require greater care from the player, and cost extra as they are very labor intensive to produce.
