Steel String Model
My basic model has either a spruce (European, Sitka, or Engelmann), cedar, or redwood top; East Indian rosewood, European maple, or Honduran mahogany back and sides; Honduran mahogany neck; ebony fingerboard; rosewood bridge; and either a mosaic or a natural-state wood rosette (see examples of Rosettes in the Gallery). The string scale is 65cm, and the string spacings are 39mm at the nut and 54mm at the saddle, although other scales and spacings can be accommodated. Necks are Spanish heel construction and are shaped according to the customer’s preference. Steel string guitar necks come with solid or optional slotted heads, and are reinforced with a nonadjustable truss rod that extends through both the head/neck and neck/body junctures. Tuning machines are Waverly, Schaller, or Schertler. The finish is French polish, applied by the traditional method by my partner, Cyndy Burton. All my guitars come with a high quality hardshell case and care accessories. My compound cutaway, sideports, fingerboard extension, multi-string arrangements, alternate woods, multi-piece backs, and amplification are all optional. Some options, namely Rodgers tuners, custom cases, case covers, and electronics are priced additionally at time of purchase. Please refer to the Policy page for current pricing.
